March Favorites: Lifestyle

March has been a little weird because of quarantine. This month I’ve focused on things that make me relaxed and bring me joy! These are my March favorites!

Books

This was the month for all audiobooks!

My Oxford Year by Julia Whelan – “Set amidst the breathtaking beauty of Oxford, this sparkling debut novel tells the unforgettable story about a determined young woman eager to make her mark in the world and the handsome man who introduces her to an incredible love that will irrevocably alter her future.”

Delicious by Ruth Reichl – “Delicious! carries the reader to the colorful world of downtown New York restaurateurs and artisanal purveyors, and from the lively food shop in Little Italy where Billie works on weekends to a hidden room in the magazine’s library where she discovers the letters of Lulu Swan, a plucky twelve-year-old, who wrote to the legendary chef James Beard during World War II. Lulu’s letters lead Billie to a deeper understanding of history (and the history of food), but most important, Lulu’s courage in the face of loss inspires Billie to come to terms with her own issues-the panic attacks that occur every time she even thinks about cooking, the truth about the big sister she adored, and her ability to open her heart to love.”

Watching

Mythic Quest – This is a funny show following a game development company. It’s on Apple+.

Listening

Drew Holcombe – Love his 2019 album “Dragons”! His older music is amazing too. Also check out his and Ellie’s Kitchen Covers on Facebook & Instagram.

Eating

Grilled Pizza – This is the BEST way to eat pizza!! Recipe coming soon.

Thrive Market – My favorite place to get non-perishable healthy foods! Click the link and receive 25% off your first order!

Doing

Slow Mornings – I’ve been taking mornings slow. I’ve been spending a little more time in bed snuggling the pups and praying. I’ve also been spending more time at the kitchen table after breakfast. Enjoying the chance to not rush around, but enjoy the small moments.

Walks/Runs – Getting out and moving has been a great stress reducer!

Self Care

Magnesium Salt Baths – This is my favorite de-stressor lately! Taking a warm bath with Epsom salt is a sure way to detox my body and mind. Usually I end up falling asleep!

Coconut Milk Leave In Conditioner – I’ve been mixing coconut milk and water to use as a leave in conditioner. My hair loves it and it smells amazing!

These have been the things I’ve been into this month! What have you been into? What has been your way to de-stress during quarantine?
